INSURANCE DISPUTE ADVOCACY · SOUTHWEST GEORGIA

When an Insurer Denies Your Claim, Hugh Fights for Grieving Families.

Life insurance companies are for-profit corporations whose bottom lines benefit when claims are delayed or rejected. Adjusters comb through dense policy exclusions, application paperwork, and past medical history searching for technicalities to withhold payment. When a family is grieving, insurance carriers count on you walking away rather than fighting back. With an insurance degree from UGA and decades of trial experience, Hugh Morris understands how to hold carriers accountable.

100% Beneficiary Focused

We never represent insurance companies. Our sole mission is fighting for grieving families and beneficiaries to secure the full proceeds they are owed.

O.C.G.A. § 33-4-6 Bad Faith

Under Georgia law, insurers refusing valid claims in bad faith face a mandatory 50% statutory penalty plus all reasonable attorney fees.

Policy & SPD Forensic Audit

We demand the complete insurance contract, Summary Plan Description (SPD), underwriting file, and adjuster notes to expose bad faith denials.

$25M+ Recovered For Clients

Decades of relentless advocacy holding corporate insurers and negligent parties accountable in Southwest Georgia and across the state.

TACTICAL INSURER EXCUSES

Life Insurance Companies DELAY and DENY

Insurance claims adjusters comb through fine-print exclusions and past medical history searching for any technicality to reject your payout. We know how to dismantle these tactics:

APPLICATION DISPUTES

Alleged Misrepresentation

Claiming medical conditions or doctor visits were omitted on the original application to void coverage entirely.

2-YEAR PERIOD

Contestability Window Abuse

Aggressively scrutinizing any death occurring within two years of policy issuance, even when the cause is completely unrelated.

FAMILY CONFLICT

Beneficiary & Interpleader Disputes

Using competing claims between family members or ex-spouses as an excuse to stall payment and dump funds into court.

PREMIUM PAYMENTS

Alleged Policy Lapse

Claiming missed premiums while ignoring statutory 30-day grace periods, employer payroll deduction errors, or lack of notice.

EXCLUSIONS

Cause of Death & Policy Exclusions

Misclassifying accidental deaths, prescription interactions, or medical complications as excluded causes or intentional acts.

EMPLOYER PLANS

ERISA & Group Policy Traps

Exploiting strict federal ERISA administrative deadlines where missed paperwork can permanently bar your right to sue.

STALLING TACTIC

Endless Procedural Record Demands

Stalling claims for months or years by demanding repetitive autopsy reports, toxicology files, or coroner amendments.

ACCIDENTAL DEATH

AD&D Fine Print Denials

Denying double-indemnity accidental death claims by arguing underlying health conditions contributed to a fatal wreck or fall.

MAXIMUM RECOVERY FOR BENEFICIARIES

LIFE INSURANCE CLAIM DENIED? YOU DESERVE JUSTICE.

Let Hugh fight for the benefits your loved one paid for.

Insurance companies count on grieving families walking away after an initial denial letter. Do not accept their decision without a formal policy review. Hugh Morris will review your policy, identify bad faith violations, and demand every dollar your family is owed.

PROVEN RECOVERY PATH

4 Steps to Overturn an Unfair Life Insurance Denial

A denial letter is not the final word. We implement a systematic legal appeal strategy to force the insurer to disburse rightful policy benefits.

1

Preserve All Letters & Envelopes

Keep the official denial letter, postmarked envelopes, policy documents, and all premium receipts. Dates establish vital statutory deadlines.

2

Avoid Giving Recorded Statements

Claims adjusters ask leading questions to build evidence for exclusions or alleged misrepresentation. Speak to counsel first.

3

Demand Complete Underwriting File

We obtain the full insurer file, including agent notes, underwriting guidelines, and claims logs that carriers hide from families.

4

Issue 60-Day Bad Faith Notice

Under O.C.G.A. § 33-4-6, our formal demand triggers strict 60-day settlement clock, exposing the carrier to 50% penalties plus fees.

5

Litigate in State or Federal Court

If the carrier still refuses payment, we file suit to enforce your rights under Georgia contract law or federal ERISA statutes.

Common Questions About Life Insurance Denials in Georgia

Under Georgia law (O.C.G.A. § 33-25-7), life insurance policies become incontestable after being in force for two years during the lifetime of the insured, except for nonpayment of premiums. Once the two-year window closes, insurers cannot deny coverage based on alleged misstatements or omissions on the application. If a carrier attempts to investigate pre-existing health issues after two years, they may be acting in bad faith.
